In “Ties that Bind” the heavy black dripping wax above a man in a fetal position with a nest on his back speak to our need to support our environment because of our mutual fragility.
Film was scanned and printed large scale on rice paper with an intentional fractured aesthetic. Other elements have been collaged in such as ground particles of trash and red sinew to bind the work back together and add depth, both aesthetically and metaphorically.
